What We've Learned About Shiba Inus:

4. They want to know what's in it for them.
5. They do not care if their behavior pleases you.
6. They are unpredictable.
7. They like to go hunting (and may or may not kill & eat what they catch).
8. The white ones are smarter than the rest.
9. They are clean.
10. They shed A LOT.
11. They can unzip zippers, move large objects that are in their way, and continue destructive behavior beyond the age of 4.
12. They can be extremely emotional.
13. They like to eat cat poop. And raw meat.
14. They are agile.
15. They respond well to positive reinforcement.
16. They don't want strangers to pet them, really. They may tolerate it for a few seconds.
17. They think everything belongs to them: the couch, that piece of chicken (that another dog is eating), an entire room, the bed, that spot where they ate dinner four hours ago, their owner... the list goes on and on. If they can see it, smell it, or hear it, it belongs to them.
18. They don't like to be restrained.
19. It's like trying to tame a wild animal!
