Better Than Boarding Home About Us About Pet Sitting Services & Rates Contact Us Our Pets! Photo Album What a few clients had to say... What's New

Pet sitting is a great alternative to boarding your pets. The boarding kennel is a highly stressful environment and doesn't suit many pets or their owners. We provide the kind of care and attention that your pets deserve.

Rebekah has been fascinated by animal behavior and cognition for many years, and lacking the option to study it in a formal setting, turned to human psychology instead. She completed her B.S. in Psychology in 2010. Realizing that fulfillment in a traditional work setting was not possible, pet sitting/dog walking, rescue work, owning a pack of dogs and competing in performance events (currently agility and rally) has been the solution to her never-ending quest for knowledge. She views every day as a learning experience and is continually amazed by the animals that she shares her life with. She has formal experience working at PetSmart as a Pet Care Specialist, Doggy Day Care Associate and Pet Training Instructor. She has also spent time at two different training facilities learning how personal protection/police dogs are trained, a particular interest of hers. She spent several months working at Greenville County Animal Care Services in the intake department. Both her and Keith have volunteered at various shelters and also foster dogs for Carolina ACD Rescue & Rehab, Day Before the Rainbow and Ocean County Shiba Rescue.

Both are Pet First Aid certified.

We share our lives with nine dogs that mean the world to us! They are our friends, our co-workers, our teachers: Colada, Jack, Little Ebi (Shiba Inus), Sooky, Rita, Sydney (Australian Cattle Dogs), Bo (Australian Cattle Dog mix) & Bindi and Cash (mutts!). See their profiles below:

Colada was our first dog. She came to us in December of 2005. DOB 10/16/2005. She is very aloof but very intelligent. She might be small, but she has special "mental powers" that she uses to control other dogs & people. Her love, attention and affection are reserved for a special few. Her favorite obsession is her feather cat toy. She is absoloutely one of the most important beings in my life! She is a high energy dog, and competes in agility & rally trials. She has completed her AKC Novice Agility (NA) title, & two of her Rally Novice (RN) legs.

Jack is dog #2. He came to us in February of 2006. DOB 11/03/2005. Jack is a character.  At nearly six years old, he still shreds toilet paper, gets in the trash, and steals things. He thinks that it's his job to inspect everything. Jack came with "issues"... at 13 weeks of age.  He was uncomfortable with close contact with other living things. With intensive counter-conditioning, Jack has become calm and non-reactive with friendly dogs. Jack loves people that he knows, but prefers to be ignored by strangers. His favorite activity is hunting small animals. He is a medium energy dog.

Cash was a foster dog that came to us in June 2007. He had been adopted from a shelter recently, and his owner was in a horrible car crash. Unable to care for him, we took him in as a foster. When his owner's health wasn't improving, she asked us to adopt him, and we agreed. Cash was a wild man at first--escaping fences and slipping collars and harnesses whenever he could. He wanted to be on the run. With time, patience and training, Cash earned his CGC (Canine Good Citizen) award in January of 2009. He is a social, confident dog that LOVES people! His favorite activities include bikejoring and chasing squirrels. He is a medium-high energy dog.

Bindi was found in a storm on the side of the road at about five months of age in May 2008-- she is our "dumpster" dog. We adopted her from the PetSmart parking lot. She is a sensitive/fearful dog, but is improving with continued, careful socialization. She loves to play with the other dogs. She is a medium energy dog.

Sooky was given to us in September 2009, when she was 9 months of age (DOB 01/2009). She has endless amounts of energy. She is the most intelligent and versatile dog that I have every met or owned--super high drive, yet extremely biddable. She loves people and is great with other dogs. Her favorite things to do include bikejoring, swimming, ball fetching, being loved on & learning new things. She competes in agility and rally trials, and is a natural at herding. She completed her rally novice (RN) title in one weekend & also passed her Basic Herding Instinct (BHI) test. She has also completed her Novice Agility (NA) title.

Rita was born 01/21/2010, part of an accidental litter. She is extremely smart, sweet & high energy. Her favorite activities include swimming, bikejoring, ball fetching, sniffing, walking and wrestling with her doggy friends. She loves other dogs and is generally aloof with strangers. She is independent and prefers to do things on her own terms. She is currently enrolled in agility classes, with the intention of competing at some point (when SHE is good & ready).

Bocephus (Bo) is Rita's littermate. He loves to learn and definately has an attitude! He thinks that all toys and treats belong to him.  He is a high energy, emotional dog and lives for his tennis ball.  His favorite activites include stealing the ball from the heeler girls, chasing the laser pointer, tug, bikejoring, swimming, eating and taking naps. He starts agility training this month.

Sydney (Syd) was meant to be a working dog, as were both her parents... only she was terrified of cows! Her owner was looking for a pet home for her and that just happened to be our home. She is a small & sturdy girl, born 4/19/2010. She is athletic, coordinated, smart & a bit crazy. She has some hearing/vision problems. She loves to swim, fetch, bikejor, wrestle, attack tires and destroy toys. Sydney likes to put her teeth on anything and everything and is learning the art of self-control. We hope to compete in agility & rally trials with her. She also passed her Basic Herding Instinct (BHI) test.

Little Ebi (shrimp, in Japanese) was adopted from the Cherokee County shelter in November 2010. Her birthday is October 2009. Just before we picked her up to bring her home, she was hit by a car, dislocating her hip. She now has a false joint and a slight limp. She was intended to be a temporary guest, but I can find no way to part with her. She is shy, sweet, and spirited. Though she is reserved with people, she is a daredevil at heart and enjoys stealing burning sticks from the fire, jumping off 5 foot fences & swimming in the ocean!

Our extended pack includes: Keiko & Kitty (shiba inus), Eli (golden retriever), Bebe (standard poodle), Marty (golden retriever/poodle mix), Bella (toy poodle), Sister (shih tzu mix), Pink (mutt), Chi (shepherd/shar pei/chow mix) & Taz (australian shepherd mix).
